South Carolina, Part 1

January 19th, 2009 · No Comments

Please enjoy some of my shots from this trip to South Carolina.  Feel free to make comments.

The shots below are from yesterday in evening light.  Both shots are of a Black-Bellied Plover in winter plumage.  My goal was to capture the bird’s movement or hunting shots with reflections.  I was able to get the reflections but not any good hunting shots.

While walking on the beach for a couple miles trying to get to a man-made jetty that was supposed to be good for Purple Sandpipers, I just had to stop even if it is only a Ring-Billed Gull.  He was preening and bathing which was fun to watch.

Lastly, I thought I would show a shot of a Long-Billed Dowitcher.  You can even see a little something the bird caught in the photograph.  Cool!

Please visit www.glancesatnature.com to view more photographs like the ones seen here.  Happy photographing!
